We like to go abroad on a regular basis. We specialize in India and the Caribbean. But also various projects were executed successfully in African countries and the Balkans and new ones are on their way. Further we have a strong network in France, Belgium, England and the USA.

Community arts projects

We execute international projects in the field of research, scouting and project development & realisation. In India and South-Africa we worked in grass root initiatives in townships and slums and realised exchange programs. Amongst those a cultural contribution to the visit of Nelson Mandela to The Netherlands in 2001 and for the Cirque du Soleil, Canada.

Commissioned by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs we designed and realised the national gift to Surinam on the occasion of the celebration of 30 years of independence. Prime Minister J.P. Balkenende handed this cultural gift over to President Venetiaan of Surinam in 2005.

In 2007 we organised the first edition of Crown Jewels, Cultural Kingdom Games 2007. Three Dutch ministries and the city of The Hague wished to strengthen the ties with the Caribbean Islands of the Dutch Antilles and Aruba. We designed and realised a three day festival. We initiated shelter for victims of war in Khartoem, Soedan. In the mean time this project is carried out by War Child.

New Cosntructions and Renovations

We are experienced in the development of constructions for the arts. E.g. we guided the conversion of a former girls reformatory in Schiedam (NL) to a sophisticated arts institute and the reconstruction of a former presbytery in Paramaribo, Surinam, to music school. Also we realised a large-scale new construction in Zoetermeer (NL) and were involved in the the revitalisation of the Pavarotti Music Center in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

De Bussy Consult signs for concepts from initiative till design, Programs of Conditions, investment- and exploitation budgets, architect selection until complete turn-around projects including management, delivery and interior. Therefore we collaborate closely with flexible teams of experienced professionals.

In preparation

First preparations have started for an European-African-American project which reflects in an artistic manner on the Trans-Atlantic slave trade routes, as scientifically researched by UNESCO. The project aims at making the results accessible to a mass audience. We collabarate closely with African, European and American archives as well as international governments and artists.

In preparation is also a small-scale but high-quality international center for creativity in the broadest sense of the word. De Bussy Consult signs for the initiative, design-coordination and realisation. A flexible team will be composed for this prestigious project on a small island in the Caribbean Sea.
